Outstanding high school seniors in Palm Beach and Martin counties will be recognized tonight at the 30th annual Pathfinder Scholarship Awards program.

The Pathfinders, held at 7:30 p.m. at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, honor students who have demonstrated exceptional academic, vocational or athletic achievement.

Kelsey Trumbach, who was a senior last year at The King's Academy, walks to the stage to accept her Pathfinder Scholarship Award for literature at the Kravis Center during the 2012 Pathfinder Scholarship Awards. Palm Beach Post file photo.

The scholarships are sponsored by Palm Beach Newspapers Inc., which publishes The Palm Beach Post and the Palm Beach Daily News.

Since the Pathfinders’ beginning in 1984, the company has given more than $2.25 million in scholarships to more than 2,000 students. This year, the Pathfinders will dole out $207,000 in scholarships.

Tonight’s event is free and open to the public.

I’ll be there, covering the event and watching to see which students win each of the 18 categories. Wave if you see me!
